New Courses Starting in March 2007

WEA are planning to run three new Arabic courses for Adults, starting March 2007. The courses will consist of fifteen, 2-hour sessions. Please note, we will be breaking for half term, Easter and Bank Holidays. There will be three levels. Please contact the tutor if you have any doubts about your suitability for a particular group.

Beginners Group

This group is designed for those, who have little or no previous knowledge of the Arabic Language, or those who only have a very basic knowledge of script.

The Beginners group will be starting on Monday the 12th of March 2007. Lessons will happen every Monday, between 7 and 9 pm.

Intermediate Group

The Intermediate group is suitable for those who have completed the Beginners’ course, or those who can read and write, and have some knowledge of grammar.

The Intermediate group will be starting on Tuesday 13th March 2007. Lessons will take place between 7 and 9 pm, every Tuesday.

Advanced Group

The Advanced group is suitable for those who are confident reading and writing, and have studied Arabic part-time for at least a year.

The Advanced group will be starting on Wednesday 14th March 2007. Lessons run between 7 and 9 pm, every Wednesday.

Venue

Classes will be held at the Clovelly centre in Clovelly Road, Southampton. The centre has recently been fully refurbished, and reopened for use. (Please get in touch if you need directions)

Fees and Concessions

• Adults over 18 £45

• Adults on benefit (Registration fee only) £10

• Young people aged between 16 and 18 Free


The Tutor

Rifaa’ El Nafees qualified as a teacher in 1971, after studying at Cairo University. She has been teaching Arabic to non-native speakers in Southampton for several years.
