New Courses Autumn 2007


New Courses in Southampton

WEA are planning to run two new Arabic courses for Adults, starting October 2007. Each course will consist of fifteen, 2-hour sessions. We will be breaking for half term and the Christmas Holidays. Two levels are currently available. Please contact the tutor if you have any doubts about your suitability for a particular group. A minimum of 12 students are required in each group, in order for the course to run.

Basic Level

This group is designed for those with a basic knowledge of the Arabic Script and the structure of the Language. This group will be starting on Monday the 29th of October 2007 and classes will continue every Monday between 7 and 9 pm.

Advanced Level

The Advanced group is suitable for those who are confident reading and writing, and have studied Arabic part-time for at least a year.

The Advanced group will be starting on Tuesday the 30th October 2007 and classes will continue every Tuesday between 7 and 9 pm.

Venue

Classes will be held at the Clovelly centre in Clovelly Road, Southampton. The centre has recently been fully refurbished, and reopened for use. (Please get in touch if you need directions)

Fees and Concessions

Adults over 18 £60*

Adults on benefit (Registration fee only) £10

Young people aged between 16 and 18 Free

* This may be paid in two installments

The Tutor

Rifaa’ El Nafees qualified as a teacher in 1971, after studying at Cairo University. She has been teaching Arabic to non-native speakers in Southampton for several years.
